CHALLENGE
New York City’s busy lifestyle has been greatly affected by Covid. There are more than 8,000 Canners in New York City who rely on busy streets and businesses for their recycles. With restaurants, bars and clubs struggling to stay open, canners now looks toward our homes as a source for recycles. Their livelihood is at risk and each can they collect is valuable. How can we further help them?
SOLUTION
Together We Can is a campaign to support the canner community to meet their needs by creating the “TWC Sticker”. Each can collected with a sticker is given a higher value of 25 cents instead of the current value of 5 cents. Through this, canners will be able to meet their needs even with low recycle counts.
GOAL
This campaign celebrates the hard work that canners do for the community and the respect they deserve for what they do. Together We Can’s goal is to connect all of us to help one another and to give back to those who are in need.
